FAQ

Review this FAQ before contacting CCK. If your query is not included in this list, feel free to get in touch with us!

Do you allow drop-ins?

Absolutely! Come on in and try us out! Contact us to let us know you are coming.

Do I need to use a mouth guard when sparring?

We highly recommend wearing a mouth guard as accidents do happen! It's our dental plan, and it is required at tournaments. If you are opposed to wearing mouth guards, you may wear a face shield as an alternative.

Do you offer private lessons?

Yes, we absolutely do! Contact us to let us know you are interested, & we will set up an appointment.

Will Martial Arts Training Make My Child A Bully?

A specific part of our martial arts training at Chomic Combat Karate teaches respect. We teach that respect for your enemy while engaging in self-defense combat will speak volumes among your peers. CCK teaches their students when to use self-defense and when it is NOT necessary to use physical self-defense. We arm our students with the capability to use de-escalation tactics to win the fight without throwing a punch. We also find that our students become more confident to stand up to bullies and have more humility while conveying kindness to others through their martial arts lessons.

Do You Allow Parents To Watch?

We strongly encourage parents to stay & support their children by watching their lessons. We love it when parents get involved with their child's growth! Often, we see the parents watching their children and develop a want to join their children for class. We say a family that kicks together, sticks together. Plus, your children will love that you have something in common. You will build a strong family bond!

Additionally, if you wanted some ‘me-time’, or a good 'Datenight'? You may simply drop them off & enjoy your time. They will have a great time and meet you with hugs and smiles upon your return!

Do I Need To Be In Good Shape?

No, come as you are. The important thing is that you start! Our students start at varying fitness levels and find out very quickly they get fit by participating consistently in our martial arts classes.

Another important aspect of starting is to never quit!

There are other benefits when striving for your Black Belt, like perseverance, never giving up, commitment, self-discipline, and humility that leads to life-long success.

Our Instructors at Chomic Combat Karate are dedicated to guiding you on your journey to Black Belt and help you realize and hit your personal goal(s).

What Do I Need To Do or Need For My First Class?

You will need to wear comfortable athletic clothing. Skirts or short shorts are not suitable for practicing or kicking. Hydration is one of the key elements to a successful martial arts class. Bring a water bottle of at least 32 oz. to class. If you are doing the S.L.L. Sweating, Learning, and Laughing, then we did our job.

Do I have to be a sports person to begin Martial Arts?

Absolutely not! In fact, many of our students are starting martial arts because they would like to become more in-shape and possess the ability to defend oneself. You will fit right in! The best advice we can give is to give yourself time, and you will be amazed at what you learn and how fast you improve! CCK's experienced Instructors are highly trained to keep instructions simple. Even the most uncoordinated student will develop ‘Ninja’ skills! You can take our word for it, or you can experience it for yourself!
